Easy assembly with plenty of shelves and hooks. I smoked 12 pounds of pork belly, a whole chicken, s half slab of baby back ribs and some Brats with plenty of room to spare. Lots of great smoke. Vents easily control the smoke and the general temperature. Face plate temperature guage monitors internal temperature. Adjustable shelves allow for smoking a large turkey or ham. I like the front door opening and access to the various shelves. Lower shelves are a slightly higher temperature than the upper shelves allowing for some nice variation in cooking and not just smoking. Thanks to a fellow reviewer, I checked [...] and sure enough, the smoker was half the price. :) Very nice.

At any rate, a incorporate notes of caution about the smoker itself. I didn't read the instructions at all; I don't even know where they are. So, these things might already be in there.

First, even though the handles have wood accents, the metal parts of the lid deal with get Very Hot. No touchy!! I am working on an alternative deal with that will be cool to the touch.

Secondly, the bottom gets highly hot also. In my excitement to use the smoker, it slipped my mind that I might not want to put it directly on my composite deck. I smoked some meat. Very yummy. any way later, I discovered that the feet on the base melted into the deck slightly. Not like the China Syndrome or anything, but enough to cause concern. Also, it left a circular burn mark on the deck. I guess I am an idiot. I notion maybe some other idiots could learn from my idiocy.

Another suggestion, the smoker had over-spray on the inside from the external paint finish. I figured it might not be a good idea to cook food in there before burning it in to get rid of the potentially toxic smoke and vapors.

Other than that, it's a spectacular, product.

Brinkman smoker a good value : Brinkmann 810-5301-V Smoke'N Grill Charcoal Smoker and Grill with Vinyl Cover, Black

My dad received one of these from an uncle visiting about 13 years ago. My dad uses his all summer and then left it in the snow all winter... It has held up for 13, nearly 14 years, in the elements. However, because of my dad's use and abuse, it has shown some wear and the grates rusted. He told me over the summer that he needed a new one, so I got it for him for Xmas (only to learn he surely only needed the grates technically. Oh well). This one was a great deal and came with a cover. Too cool! All the parts were there and my dad like a tiny kid enjoyed putting it together on Xmas morning with no problems.
This is the same grill he had before, only obviously newer. However, it doesn't feel as expansive as they used to... I'm implicated on how it will hold up (although my dad says he won't be leaving it in the snow).
I know this isn't a containers review, but the actual containers it comes in is also the only containers it is shipped in (kind of like being shipped a Barbie just in the Barbie box with no supplementary packing or padding), so I felt it is worth mentioning. The manufacturer does not provide much protection/insulation from the whole mailing process, probably because they were probably meant to just be stocked in stores... Dunno. But because of this, you can expect some cosmetic issues (which may or may not affect the durability of this product over time... We'll see).
Also, my dad has noted that the Brinkman label on the hood is kind of cheap and will probably burn off fast. I'm guessing this grill won't be pretty long.
However, the grill cooks nicely low and slow. It is hard to get the climatic characteristic in the "ideal" range, but we have found that the grill doesn't need to be. We're not scholar grillers, so others may argue otherwise, but I find that it makes a fine steak. Often after we've grilled a steak, we'll throw some potatoes on it and let them cook (very) slowly until the coals run out. Mmmm can't wait for some bbq!
